The Ladies Forum of St Mary's Syro Malabar Catholic Church of Pearland is a vibrant community of women across all ages and backgrounds coming together to enrich the parish family through dynamic programs.
Mission: Dedicated group of women working together through the intercession of Mother Mary, with their God given skills and abilities to promote and enhance the spiritual growth of our church community.
Vision: Developing a culture of togetherness and empowering the spiritual growth.
Some of our activities include:
Monthly prayer meeting and social gathering - in a world where we are increasingly busy and isolated with work and other responsibilities, the ladies' monthly prayer and social gathering is a way to connect with women in our congregation through worship and relaxation activities.
Gardening committee - God chose a garden as man and woman's original home and our gardening committee continues to care for creation through working in the ground. The fruits of their labor is seen in the church decorations for special occasions as well as in fundraising efforts.
Education committee - Educational seminars inform, educate, motivate and challenge us as church members in increasing our faith and our practical life skills. Ladies Forum members design, organize and conduct enrichment seminars throughout the year on relevant topics to both youth and adult members.
St Mary's Kitchen - It is widely known that the way to one's heart is through their stomach and the St. Mary's Kitchen Team is a vital team who brings delicious meals to the church community, both for special occasions and for fundraising purposes. Join us and show off your creative and tasty cooking skills!
Arts & Crafts committee - encourages talented members to create fine handicrafts such as home decor, gifts, jewelry, paintings, cards, wreaths and more to be used as fundraising efforts for the other forum programs.
Care Ministry - The care ministry exists to provide love and support to people who are struggling with life's challenges (illness, death, disability, etc), and especially to those who are homebound in temporary or permanent circumstances.
In addition to formal committees, Ladies Forum members are leaders in various general church ministries such as teaching CCD classes, organizing First Communion training and celebration, church decorations for special events, church picnics and fairs, planning cultural events, and more.
